MIldura Success- TWIN EAGLES

May 22, 2012

This years Mildura Carnival proved to be yet another successful one for the team at Terry Kelly Racing.

All five runners weighed in with Fortrus Lad and Miss Montgomery both running close thirds and not looking far off a win.

Twin Eagles then capped off the weekend with an easy victory in the Sunraysia Daily Country Showcase SV 0 - 68 Handicap 2000m. From barrier 2, Twin Eagles jumped and sat mid field for most of the trip, he then quickly made his move, coming around the outside and clearing the field to win by 2 Lengths. Twin Eagles was ridden by Warrnambool based jockey, Nikita Mclean, who was narrowly beaten in the previous race, the Mildura Cup.

The West Quest 5yr old, out of Centafit, is a half brother to handy New Zealand stayer Young Centaur. The John Sargent trained galloper won many staying races including the Group 1 Wellington Cup. With Twin Eagles' win on Sunday, he is looking like he will follow the footsteps of his older brother.

Twin Eagles is owned by Andre Agterhuis, a part owner in the business, along with Angela Bridges, Hence being named after the property in Coghills Creek.
